Annual Giving

Annual Giving is a vital program designed to offset portions of the annual costs of operating Hilltop Montessori School while providing the donor opportunities to take tax deductions as allowed by law. As the name implies, this appeal is taken annually and the first year of the Hilltop Montessori Annual Fund will be 2009.

In an effort to keep our school accessible, Hilltop Montessori School (like most independent schools), charges a tuition fee that does not quite cover the total cost of educating each student. Hilltop relies on unrestricted donations to Annual Giving and events like Hilltop on the Green to offset the difference between tuition and the annual cost of educating a child.

All donations to Annual Giving, no matter the size, are greatly appreciated. Hilltop Montessori School's Annual Fund will officially begin in 2009 with a goal of 100% participation from faculty, parents and board.

It is our sincere hope that as direct beneficiaries of Hilltop Montessori School, each family would choose to make a contribution each year that their child attends the school. Annual giving gifts range from $10 to $10,000 or more. High internal participation in an annual giving fund also allows our school to become more competitive in development opportunities outside the Hilltop community.

Gifts to non-profit educational institutions qualify as charitable contributions and are tax deductible as allowed by law. Many corporations also offer a matching gift program that will increase a donor's gift to the school. Contact your company's personnel office for more information.

We look forward to a very successful first Annual Fund in 2009, with 100 percent participation from our stakeholders. If you are interested in contributing before then, please contact Executive Director, Michele Scott at hms@hilltopmontessori.com.
