Annual Giving is a vital program designed to enhance portions of the annual costs of operating Hilltop Montessori while providing participating donors the opportunity to take tax deductions as allowed by law. As the name
implies, the appeal is taken annually and 2011 was our second year implementing our Annual Fund program.

We are pleased to announce that we achieved our goal of surpassing the 2010 fund this year. The total raised for both 2010 and 2011 is $48,000. This past year, our percentage of parents that participated was 72%. The total percentage of participation in both years from board and staff was 100%.
We hope this report provides you with additional information as to where these funds were spent and how grateful we are for your assistance.

Where Did the Funds Go?
Continuing Education for Staff $14,000
(This includes financial assistance with graduate level Montessori certification
and Masters level classes, seminars in reading instruction, bee keeping, writing and other professional development opportunities.)

Gardens/Outdoor Classroom Areas $4,000
(Raised flower beds, beekeeping materials, seeds, plants, landscaping, rain
barrels, composting equipment)

Technology $13,000
(Smart Boards, laptops, Internet Filtering Content Software, DeskTops)

Music Instruments $2,500
(Preschool music stand, drums, etc.)

Foreign Language $1500
(Workbooks and textbooks for upper elementary and middle school students)

*Please also note that these figures do not include profits from our annual
event, Hilltop on the Green, which also has assisted us with music instruments,
green school construction, shelving for the classrooms, adding funds to the
Cindi Stehr Scholarship Program, and other purchases!
