This time of year is always exciting for us as our graduates contact us with updates about their accomplishments and our current students share their hard work. So far this week, we have received two emails from alumni noting silver and bronze medals for the National Spanish Exam and we also received word that one of our graduates is a Presidential Scholar, headed to college in the fall with numerous scholarship opportunities.

The proficiency and energy that our alumni and current students embody is a great cause for celebration, in addition to the official report we received as a part of our re-accreditation last month. The team of educators, administrators and mentors noted, “the visiting team found HMS to be a vibrant institution focused on its mission. The school is a community of caring, talented, passionate professionals; enthusiastic parents, committed board members and engaged students all with the common goal of living the HMS mission.” They also note regarding our alumni: “Hilltop Montessori School graduates students who excel as evidenced by the numbers of National Honor students as well the students who place in state and national competitions. Graduates are well prepared for success beyond high school and continue on to good colleges and universities.”

Hurrah, Hilltop! As we wrap up the 2013-2014 school year, let’s raise a toast (using a lovely kale fruit smoothie made from scratch in our gardens) to our students, parents, and faculty of the past, present and future! Cheers!
