We are thrilled that PTO is donating all the proceeds from the Art and Music Festival to enhance our existing school security. We will also be using some of our annual fund donations for the same purpose. Some of the additions will include: different locks for interior doors, outdoor speakers that connect to our existing intercom system, hinged locks for fencing and other improvements. Also, we are using some of the funds for crisis management professional development coursework so administration can stay current on best practices for school safety and security.
Additionally, we would like to thank the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department who has graciously accepted our request for a visit to assess our school security. If you see a representative from the Sheriff’s office on campus, don’t panic! They are going to do a walk through and security audit of our current policies and procedures so we can make sure we are doing all we can!
