The Town of Mt. Laurel
Hilltop Montessori School is proud to be located in the Town of Mt. Laurel, near Birmingham, Alabama. The town of Mt. Laurel is pedestrian friendly, full of beautiful parks and trees, and just the right home for our green school.

US Green Building Council: LEED Ratings
Find out more about (LEED) ratings. Our "green school" has accumulated points to be Silver LEED rated. This commitment to the environment provides our students with first-hand experience on the benefits of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

Alabama Legacy Foundation
Hilltop Montessori School has received another grant from the Alabama Legacy Foundation. Our upper elementary and middle school students will be identifying native plants in Mt Laurel through resource materials. After the identification is complete, the children will help to permanently mark each species with small signs. The older students will work to cut a small path that will highlight the native plants along a walkway on our property. Once the trail and identification is complete, the younger students will work with the older children to create their own “catalogs” of native plants. Some of the money will also be utilized to create photographic images of native plants (turned into Montessori jobs) for all the classrooms.
